Cross River Recognized for Its Leadership and Impact in 2020
Company is awarded ‘2020 Company of the Year’ and ‘2020 Impact Company’ by leaders in the industry
FORT LEE, N.J. - Cross River, a technology-focused financial services organization and Banking-as-a-Service (“BaaS”) provider, today announced that it has been awarded 2020 Company of the Year by the Dive Awards and 2020 Impact Company by TechUnited:NJ.
“At the very onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cross River recognized the extraordinary opportunity we had to help those in need,” said Gilles Gade, Founder, President and CEO of Cross River. “By unleashing the power of technology, utilizing strong fintech partnerships and our deep relationship with the SBA, we were able to rise up to the challenge, turning it into opportunity. We are humbled to be recognized by the Dive Awards and TechUnited:NJ for our work this year, and know that the impact Cross River had on communities across the country was a result of our employees—the lifeblood of Cross River and the reason we are able to continue to set the standard in the industry.”
Since 2016, each Industry Dive publication selects the most impactful achievements, people and companies across the industry it covers. With the coronavirus pandemic, economic and workplace shifts, racial upheaval and a deep political divide in a presidential election year - along with everything else that happened in 2020 - the editorial team focused on recognizing leadership in a time of crisis. The Dive Awards named Cross River Company of the Year as a result of its leadership and impact.
"2020 was no ordinary year for business. After reporting on how people and companies adapted to the new normal this year, we decided our annual Dive Awards needed to recognize leadership in a time of unprecedented crisis," said Industry Dive Editor-in-Chief Davide Savenije. "The Dive Awards for 2020 highlight the stories of the organizations and leaders who met the moment by showing empathy for the human condition, agility amid uncertainty and disruption, and resilience in the face of adversity."
The TechUnited:NJ celebration honors 21 individuals and companies in the technology and life sciences community for accomplishments in leadership, innovation, development and collaboration. The event also serves as a fundraiser for the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF) and Newark Working Kitchens. In 2019, Cross River was named Technology Company of the Year as a result of its long-term growth and profitability, substantial impact on the industry and market and outstanding corporate citizenship. This year, Cross River was named 2020 Impact Company for its COVID relief efforts, including its leading participation in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and financial literacy efforts in the New Jersey community and beyond.
“TechUnited is proud to have the opportunity to recognize these leaders to inspire hope and connect our great community. In a year marked by so much change, challenge, and uncertainty, we hope to provide a representation of just how resilient the tech community is. Our best wishes to the nominees and winners this year who are working hard to build a better future for all,” shared TechUnited CEO Aaron Price.
