Establishes the HEAF and Cross River Scholarship Fund to Provide Underserved Students Access to Higher Education and Career Opportunities

FORT LEE, N.J. - Cross River Bank (“Cross River”), a technology infrastructure provider that offers embedded financial solutions, is proud to announce the expansion of its partnership with the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (“HEAF”) through the establishment of the HEAF and Cross River Scholarship Fund. This $25,000 fund aims to ensure underserved students have access to higher education and opportunities in the finance and technology industries.

“Cross River’s commitment to reducing the opportunity gap for students from under-resourced communities mirrors HEAF’s mission to open doors to college and meaningful careers for some of New York City’s most deserving students,” said Michael Johnson, President & CEO, Harlem Educational Activities Fund. “Five HEAF students are propelled on their education journey with the support of the HEAF and Cross River Scholarship Fund. Cross River’s partnership is not only a valuable resource for HEAF students, but also underscores for our students the importance of stewardship and giving back.”

Beginning in 2022, Cross River supported HEAF’s College Decision Day, where students proudly announce their college choices and scholarships for the upcoming fall. HEAF serves students from under-resourced communities in New York City with remarkable results: 100% graduate high school on time and nearly 100% are accepted to and enroll in colleges and universities. Cross River’s continued support has been instrumental in opening doors and providing educational opportunities for HEAF students, who rely on these services to succeed academically and professionally.

“It is our responsibility to do our part in preparing the world for the next generation, and we are grateful to play a role in the education and future success of these students,” said Gilles Gade, Founder and CEO of Cross River. “It is an honor to partner with Michael, the students, and the entire HEAF family. From them, we learn how to think critically, effect change, and step up as true future leaders.”

Beyond financial support, Cross River has leveraged its extensive network to facilitate connections between HEAF and institutions of higher education, such as the University of Delaware, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Morgan State University.

Cross River remains dedicated to driving positive change and expanding educational access for underserved communities, with particular emphasis placed on global scholarships and financial literacy programs. As an industry leader, Cross River continues to pioneer initiatives that align with its core values of humility, integrity, creativity, compassion and responsibility, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovation and inclusion. By deepening its partnership with HEAF, Cross River is not only investing in the academic success of underserved students but also fostering a diverse pipeline of future professionals who will shape the finance and technology industries.
