Casey has nearly twenty years' experience designing and developing software on a wide variety of platforms for a diverse set of clients. He was a partner at the policy consulting firm A&N Technical Services, Inc. for ten years, where he ran the firm's Washington, DC office and was in charge of software development.
He founded Cross River Software--named after a river in which he used to swim as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon--in 1997 to continue developing cutting-edge technical and policy-related software, and also to tap into the potential of the then-nascent internet to develop distributed, data-driven applications and software for mobile devices. Casey started out developing software to meet the special needs of water utility planners, and he continues to work closely with water utilities--engineering applications to analyze the effectiveness of conservation programs, to model and simulate a utility's supply and demand, and to optimize distribution systems. He designed and wrote the IrpSim software program, a nearly one-million dollar project funded by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
Casey has considerable experience developing complex web-based applications. Cross River Software recently partnered with the Seattle firm indego:MEDIA to develop an online, real-time system for booking meeting and event space. A version of this software, called focal_EVENT, is being used by Ameriprise Financial (formerly American Express Financial Services) to manage its financial advisors' meetings.
Casey holds a degree in mathematics from UCLA and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. When he's not lost in thought figuring out the most efficient way to calculate the solution to a multi-dimensional optimization problem with nonlinear constraints, Casey likes to hop the globe to watch total solar eclipses and to run marathons.
Cross River Software is a lean organization. We maintain a small office in downtown Seattle and are able to pass on our low overhead as savings to our clients. We partner with some of the best developers, designers and analysts in the business, so we're able to ramp up quickly to staff even very large projects.
